Steve was born and raised in Burns Lake, which is a small community in northern British Columbia. He attended Simon Fraser University (S.F.U.) and graduated in 1984, receiving his Bachelor of Arts in criminology. While at S.F.U. he actively worked with probation services, volunteering time with young offenders both in and out of correctional institutions.

Steve attended the University of Victoria Law School. He received his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) in 1987. He completed his Articles with the law firm of Harper Grey Easton & Company in Vancouver and was admitted to the British Columbia Bar in 1988.

While at Harper Grey Easton & Company, he developed a practice acting for innocent victims injured in various types of accidents and incidents.

Steve moved to Campbell River in 1993 and has been working civil litigations since then.

For the last twenty three years, Steve has acted on behalf of thousands of injured people to ensure that they receive maximum compensation for their pain and suffering, wage loss, medical expenses and care costs.

His practice deals with auto accidents, motorcycle claims, plane crashes, as well as wrongful death claims brought on by family members who have lost loved ones. Steve has acted for clients with claims for brain damage, fibromyalgia, spinal cord injuries, fractures, soft tissue injuries and other severe injuries.

Steve acts for clients all over British Columbia, and has conducted trials all around the Province. He has appeared as counsel at all levels of Courts with B.C. including the Provincial Court, the Supreme Court of British Columbia and the Court of Appeal.

Steve is a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association and the British Columbia Trial Lawyers Association. He is also on the Board of Governors of the British Columbia Trial Lawyers Association. He sits as a director on the Campbell River Loss Prevention Association and was the Campbell River Bar Association president for two years, 1995/96 and 1996/97.

Steve is married and has two young children. In his spare time he enjoys fishing, skiing, playing hockey, motorcycling, boating and winemaking.
